The purpose of this role is to create functional solutions for specific verticals supporting solution architectures for systems and platforms ensuring all relevant options are explored for time, cost and compliance to the company's standards, policies and practices whilst meeting the business' requirements. The role will oversee the work of other architects and the delivery of the specific vertical and shepherd it through the relevant governance.
We are looking for a Functional Architect to join our Commerce team. You will work with our strategy, design and engineering teams to create solutions for our clients. You will act a subject matter expert on the technologies that we implement and will lead projects from start to finish, partnering with our clients throughout the engagement.
You will explain different technologies and solutions, explaining how they map to a clients business needs, identify insights and be able to explain client needs and engineering requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to solve business problems, design systems, and have an impact on client’s lives. This is a remote-friendly position reporting to Commerce Technical Director.
Responsibilities
- Be a Subject Matter Expert on Commerce project implementations, providing guidance on the solution being built
- Consult with clients on the chosen technology, ensuring that they are using the technology efficiently
- Facilitate requirement elicitation meetings with the client
- Analyze documentation from clients and vendors
- Work with client Product Owner and team members to groom and refine features
- Work with the Architects and project team to refine requirements that can be handed over for development and testing
- Manage backlog and future specifications to ensure engineering team is aware of the pipeline
- Create process/data flows to create a visual representation of requirements
- Participate in design sessions and create wireframes
- Manage requirements, specifications and track changes with use of change management process
- Help create QA test cases, client acceptance test plan and management of issue log
- Conduct showcases and facilitate user acceptance testing with clients to gather feedback throughout the project
- Create training materials and lead training sessions with the clients
Qualifications
- 8+ years in a client facing role
- Experience working in Commerce or OMS platforms
- Comfortable presenting information to internal and external stakeholders
- Experience eliciting, defining, analyzing and documenting business and user needs in the form of business, functional, non-functional requirements
- Guide solutions with the clients and technical team
- Understand business processes/problems and bring that understanding to discussions with developers and designers, clients and other analysts
- Experience with data modeling, data flow diagrams and business process flows
- Project management and technology skills
- Proficiency in Jira and Confluence (or similar tools)
- Experience implementing and/or managing Commerce or OMS platforms (Adobe Commerce, Shopify, Fluent Commerce, SAP Hybris, Mirakl Marketplace etc..)
The anticipated salary range for this position is $113,000-$182,850. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
