The purpose of this role is to create solution architectures for systems and platforms ensuring all relevant options are explored for time, cost and compliance to the company’s standards, policies and practices whilst meeting the business’ requirements. The role will oversee the work of other architects and delivery of the solution for clients both internal and external, shepherding it through the relevant governance.

We are now excited to invite applications for the role of Technical Director – Solutioning & Architecture, joining the team in either Sydney or Melbourne.

The role:

This newly created role of Technical Director – Solutioning & Architecture will see you focus on establishing technology roadmaps and developing enterprise solutions across differentiating technology stacks to not only meet but anticipate the future needs of our clients, driving long term value and deep customer engagement. 

Core responsibilities:

  • Establish, grow, and embed a strong architectural capability within Merkle
  • Partner with clients to navigate the complex challenges they face in business and technology, utilising core offerings to create solutions
  • Deliver on high level consultancy projects such as tech strategy & roadmaps, process reengineering and change management
  • Contribute to pre sales engagements either individually or through the team
  • Create go to market propositions and sales bids and drive internal initiatives to harvest and build IP
  • Confidently present technical solutions to various audiences in an engaging and persuasive way, garnering trust, buy in and understanding through articulation of client value
  • Effectively structure multiple work stream programs and provide technical leadership across a number of projects/engagements simultaneously
  • Create technical architecture, roadmaps, estimates, and delivery plans that ensure implementation deadlines are achievable, and risks are managed

A bit about you:

  • In depth knowledge of architectural, solutioning and development principles such as TOGAF, object-oriented application development, DevOps/CICD and languages such as java, C#, SQL, python
  • Deep knowledge in SaaS, Cloud Solutions, CRM and/or Digital Experience platforms – Salesforce, Adobe, Data Platforms, AWS, Azure - a true 'tech-agnostic' profile
  • Demonstratable experience with Data Migration, Security, SSO and/or integration
  • You inspire creative, innovative, and proactive solutions, supporting the wider project team and provides technical assistance to peers and clients when asked
  • Highly motivated and can work autonomously or as a super collaborator who builds trust and influence through relationships
  • Talented leader who can identify key talent, establish and build a team culture, and mentor the next-generation of technology leaders

This role is critical to establish, grow, and embed a strong architectural capability within Merkle that will oversee and ensure the quality of solutions provided by architects during delivery of all solutions for internal and external clients, including establishing a common approach and standards.
