Meet Victorine (Vicky) Bokengo. In this interview, discover Vicky’s background, priorities, vision and ambitions in her new role.
I was born and raised in Cameroon (Central Africa). I moved to Paris at the age of 24, where I studied foreign languages applied to international trade (French, English and German). From a very early age, I always aspired to work in an international environment. This is what shaped my career path.
After my master’s degree, I decided to move to Munich where I worked as an intern in a marketing agency that was organizing trade shows in automotive and aerospace. During my internship, I was in charge of the international exhibitors and visitors, where my love for sales was born! I pitched them the event concept, provided hospitality services and accompanied them through the exhibition. After this, I continued working within various industries - such as renewable energy, non-profit sector, telecommunication, and ICT - whilst always holding a sales role. In 2016, I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey and established my own consulting company that offers services including business development, event management and Corporate Social Responsibility.
As I mentioned previously, I started my career in a marketing agency. What I love about the agency world is that it is full of creative minds. Agencies are agile, flexible and keep a startup mindset which always keeps them a few steps ahead in the market.
I strongly believe that there is a tremendous opportunity for Merkle DACH to strongly establish itself in the German market as it is the leading CXM company in the region. So, when the opportunity came to me, I understood that, not only was I going to be part of an amazing organization, but my work was also going to contribute to its success.
The merger is still fresh on the German market, meaning we still have a long way to go in terms of building awareness and recognition of our brand. There are abundant opportunities for growth in Germany and particularly with Salesforce, who is one of our main partners. It’s a win-win situation – I can strengthen existing relationships and grow new ones which would generate revenue both for us and Salesforce. I am confident in Merkle eventually becoming the number one Salesforce partner in Germany.
First and foremost, I am excited about the fact that our culture is at the top of the company´s agenda. Secondly, after we all got hit by the pandemic, many companies and institutions have been obliged to digitalize their internal processes. Therefore, I’m excited about where the market stands and to promote our capabilities and services within the Salesforce platform. I see a tremendous opportunity for Merkle DACH and its amazing partners to work together and guide companies through their digital transformation journeys. In addition to that, having visionaries, great minds, and high performers as colleagues is very exciting!
